Leadership

Get to know and connect with the people who make up The Table.

Our community is guided by the Leadership Team which, directed by the Holy Spirit, reads the spiritual compass of the community, measures the bearings of all that has come before, and take soundings of what lies beneath. Our Leadership Team stands at the helm of the ship and keeps their focus on the horizon to plot the way ahead. The healthy growth of our community is based upon a relationship of trust between the congregation and the Leadership Team.

David Zigler

David was born in Indianapolis, Indiana which makes him a Hoosier by heritage and yet his soul resonates with the rugged terrain of Maine. He resides in Portland with Laura (partner for nearly 25 years), two high school daughters and two quirky dogs. David serves as an ordained pastor in the Methodist stream + trained spiritual director through Fall Creek Abbey + an evangelist for Bourbon pours/local donuts/Traeger grills.

David is the Pastor & Vice-Chair of the Leadership Table.

Kelly Ayer

Kelly comes from a big family and loves the way The Table creates an extended family of faith.  She hears God's voice through the words of a friend, a quiet walk in the woods, or the power of wind and waves on the beach.  Kelly loves living in Portland, tutoring math, sharing meals with friends and family, and practicing speaking French.

Kelly is member of the Leadership Team.

Margot Owen

Margot loves people and the outdoors. She relishes her quiet, but she also thrives on the busyness and noise of a house full of high school and college students. She is always up for a good laugh, a walk, or a cup of coffee. Margot was first drawn to The Table by its unique sense of community. It's a taste of God's Kingdom and a place where the grace and peace of Christ is known and shared.

Margot is a member of the Leadership Team.

Brian Killeen

Brian is a painter and K-12 art teacher, who lives with his family in Portland. Brian grew up in a large family in St. Louis, and has lived in Maine since 2008. Although he knows he will always be from “away”, he does enjoy the lush summers, stark winters, and the wonderful variety of whoopie pies available in the region. Brian is learning more all the time about the love of God through the many seasons of life. He appreciates the creative use of metaphor in the preaching at The Table, imitating Christ’s use of the familiar to describe and connect with the unfamiliar love of God.

Brian is the Secretary of the Leadership Team.

Kyle Zieba

After over 25 years of living and working in Philadelphia, God made a way for Kyle to move back to Maine at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her dear grade school friend Kelly Ayer invited her to The Table and she has found a community of Jesus people to love and be loved. Kyle previously served on the leadership team and as the treasurer for her former faith community and brings that experience as well as her direct communication style to serve God and The Table. She works for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and is a doctoral candidate in Eastern University's Organizational Leadership program.

Kyle is the Treasurer of the Leadership Team.

Gail Berlinger

Gail is perpetually grateful and challenged by God’s invitations to connection and to rest, and in The Table, she has found a community embracing both. Gail has lived on both sides of the Atlantic but thankfully never more than an hour from the beach. She’s happiest painting while watching her boys swimming and surfing at Scarborough Beach in the summer, walking the dog at Willard in the winter, or around a campfire any time of year (except fly season). And she’s always up for baking cookies.

Gail is the Chair of the Leadership Team.

Kyle Rasmussen

Kyle and his wife Sarah are from away but feel very at home in Maine. He loves feeling Gods presence through a good meal and beverages on the deck with old friends or at local coffee shop with a new one. Walking his Dog Saizy, playing with his cat Lulu, going for a swim or a run, making a good meal on the grill, and enjoying nature by the ocean or on a hiking trail are a few things that bring him joy.
